We, at Goddard Wool Marketing, commissioned Peta to paint a scene associated with the wool industry. The painting was a scene of freshly shorn sheep, leaving the wool shed to go back to their paddock. We now have that painting in our office reception. As we have a lot of wool clients coming into the office they often give high praise of Peta's work.Thank-you Peta for the wonderful painting. We highly recommend Peta's work.Phil & Rosie Goddard,
I was lucky enough to attend an exhibition in Cunnamulla S-W Queensland for the amazingly talented Peta Warner. Her wonderful artwork is reminiscent of childhoods spent living, working and playing in the outback. The colours are “true to life” and capture the essence of wonderful memories often shared with other like-minded souls. This is not saying that others cannot enjoy the images so cleverly crafted by Peta, but they resonate strongly with my attachment for this sometimes harsh land and the people who choose to live in and love it. I purchased a painting that reminded me so much of my father, cleaning out a trough… a meaningless job at the time but now something that brings back poignant memories. I recently caught up with Peta at another exhibition and told her if I was ever unlucky enough to have my house burn down, the item I would miss most is her wonderful painting. I hope others get to enjoy them as well.
Karen Ticehurst,
The Bulloo Shire Council has had an association with Peta Warner spanning many years. The Council and Shire residents think very highly of Peta’s work, and Council has purchased a number of her paintings for display in the Shire Office.
Peta has a Degree in Visual Arts. She also possesses a great depth of knowledge, experience and understanding of the culture of the local community, and is very passionate and committed to her work. She exhibits professionalism when undertaking any new project, or working with other art workers. A great deal of research accompanies any of her projects. Peta has held Arts Workshops on local properties and she is highly regarded and respected by her fellow outback artists.
In 2009 the Bulloo Shire Council commissioned Peta to undertake the Q150 Mosaic Tile Project, in consultation with the Community and Council. The Art work was designed to portray the stories, people, culture and significant events of the region, in keeping with the theme of the 150th year, “Our People, Our Places, Our Stories”. One Tile was to be decorated as a reflection of the region’s past, and the other, as a representation of the hopes, dreams, aspirations and vision for the future. To create the Past Tile, Peta employed a collage and paint technique similar to that used in the Fabric of Rural Life series, previously exhibited in Cunnamulla. For the Future Tile, the artist used multiple transparent layers of acrylic sheet to communicate modernity and the transformation of negatives into positives.
The Bulloo Shire Council and the residents of the Shire are extremely proud of the Tiles that Peta created, and even more so to have these works on permanent display in Brisbane, as a representation of our region. On behalf of the Bulloo Shire Council and the residents of the Shire, it is with great pleasure that we offer our full support to Peta Warner as she further showcases her skills as a professional artist.
John Ferguson. Mayor, Bulloo Shire Council,
Peta Warner is an exceptional artist in a number of media. My wife and I commissioned her to produce an Australian bird series for our modern home and the work has been admired by hundreds of visitors for their beauty, creativity and wide range of styles and media. We have also commissioned her do a portrait of a friend and the quality was outstanding. I would highly recommend her work to produce an impact in any boardroom, corporate workplace or home.
